Description

Alvin Pudlin was a leading First Amendment and Civil Liberties litigator in New Britain. His law partners, family, and friends established the Pudlin Award by endowment to the law school after his death.

Criteria:

Pudlin Scholars are selected from the upper-class applicant pool among students who have taken or are enrolled in one or more courses related to Civil Liberties, Individual Rights, Free Speech, and Street Law.

Pudlin Scholars are required to teach a series of First Amendment subjects, on a weekly basis in an area high school throughout the Fall semester.  Teaching placements are coordinated with and supervised by Professor Robin Barnes.

Award:

Awards of $1,500 each will be presented at Prize Day 2014 to those who serve as Pudlin Scholars during the academic year.
