This course offers an introduction to Connecticut's environmental laws, using recent controversies to highlight the relevance of those laws to Connecticut's property and economic development patterns. The rules on permitting affect how Connecticut's land is developed - resulting in development patterns across our state that are attributable in part to the state's environmental laws. As part of this course, students will also examine some of the boundaries between state and local environmental and land use permitting.
