This course investigates cutting edge issues tort law and alternative systems for regulating harm in the United States, building on the foundation established in first year torts. The course will cover subjects such as products liability, preemption, mass torts, toxic and environmental torts, governmental torts and immunities and developments in tort reform. The course will also consider advanced issues in causation, remedies and compensation systems.
