How do future law students differ from their peers?

A recent study by the Law School Admission Council entitled Behind the Data: Comparing Law School Applicants to All College Freshman analyzed the socioeconomic and other characteristics of law school applicants. 

The study found that applicants rated themselves more highly compared to other students in terms of self-confidence, political involvement, and academic achievement.  It also found that applicants were wealthier, had parents with a higher level of education, and were more likely to have a lawyer as a parent.
