John E. Noyes is a visiting professor of law teaching International Law during the 2013 fall semester. Professor Noyes has also taught international law courses at Wake Forest University School of Law, Roger Williams University School of Law, Suffolk University Law School, Victoria University (Wellington, NZ), and the University of San Diego's Institute on International and Comparative Law. He is currently the Roger J. Traynor Professor of Law at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. Professor Noyes is the immediate past president and current executive committee chair of the American Branch of the International Law Association, and he has been active in several other international law organizations. He has written extensively about the law of the sea, international dispute settlement, and other international law topics. Professor Noyes received his B.A. in History from Amherst College in 1973 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1977. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar.
