William M. Rubenstein is Connecticut's commissioner of consumer protection. He previously was a partner in the law firm of Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider, LLP. Commissioner Rubenstein also served in the Connecticut Attorney General's Antitrust and Consumer Protection unit and as a lawyer at the Federal Trade Commission. He has taught antitrust, consumer protection and trade regulation courses as an adjunct at the UConn, both in the School of Law and in the M.B.A. Program and has lectured in programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, the Practicing Law Institute, the New York State Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.
