American Civil Liberties Union

The American Civil Liberties Union is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee to all.

Mission

The UConn Law School Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will work to ensure that the Bill of Rights and the rights guaranteed by the Connecticut Constitution are preserved.  The Chapter will work to accomplish these goals in cooperation with the ACLU of Connecticut -- a nonpartisan, non-profit membership organization.  The Chapter will engage in and/or assist with legislative advocacy, litigation, grassroots organizing and public education on a broad array of issues affecting our liberties.
