CT Hall of Fame Honoree

Bessy Reyna '82 has been recognized by the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame as one of its 12 "Voices and Vision" honorees.

Reyna is a columnist with CTLatinoNews.com and a former opinion columnist for The Hartford Courant. She has been a recipient of the Library of Congress's Connecticut Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to the Literary Community. She currently writes an arts and culture page for the Hispanic newspaper, Identidad Latina. Reyna is a master teaching artist for the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and she is a frequent lecturer and guest artist at colleges, libraries and museums. Reyna is an author of many books of poetry including Memoirs of the Unfaithful Lover and The Battlefield of Your Body.

    Chad Landmon '99 has been recognized by the University of Connecticut Honors Program with its 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award.

  • Lawyers Collaborative For Diversity Awards
    On May 9, Paul Arce '15, Odette Martins '15, Samem Jabarkhail '15 and Raymond Withers-Tong '15 were recognized by the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity at a ceremony celebrating Edwin Archer Randolph.

  • CT Law Review Awards
    The Connecticut Law Review has recognized Dorrance Sexton, Jr. '68, the editor-in-chief of the first independent Connecticut Law Review, with the 2013 Connecticut Law Review Award.

  • Grad Earns Heiman Award
    Cecil Thomas '06 will receive the 2013 Judge Maxwell Heiman Memorial Award from the Hartford County Bar Association on April 24. Thomas is a staff attorney for Greater Hartford Legal Aid.

  • Chase Family Honored
    On April 20, Cheryl A. Chase '78 and the Chase Family will be among the honorees at the White Coat Gala at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

  • Grad Elected a Fellow
    Danielle P. Ferrucci '99 has been elected a fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel.
