Dr. David Mahatha joined the UConn School of Law in May 2024 as Assistant Dean for Diversity, Belonging and Community Engagement. He previously served as Director of Inclusive Excellence at the University of South Carolina School of Law from 2022 to 2024. He worked for 14 years at Central Piedmont Community College in various roles, including Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Director. He has extensive experience in developing and implementing programs and initiatives centered on diversity, equity, inclusion and leadership. Dr. Mahatha holds a BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an MA in Human Resource Development from Clemson University, a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, and Professional Certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
