John Rogers

Formerly Casualty Practice Lead & Head of Surety Claims – Americas, AXA XL


John Rogers is a Lecturer in Law at the UConn School of Law teaching the course Mass Tort Litigation and the Role of Liability Insurance.

His career in the Connecticut insurance industry spanned 31 years during which time he served in a number of executive legal and operational roles in Claims including divisions focused on complex claims and systemic risks. He performed these roles during significant tenures at The Travelers (and St. Paul Companies), The Hartford, and AXA XL.

Rogers participated in discussions leading to the ALI Liability Insurance Restatement and was an active presence in the American Property Casualty Insurance Association. He also served on boards and commissions including the Old Lyme, CT Ethics Commission, The Greater Bristol Visiting Nurses Assoc., Inc. (Chairperson), and The Yale Club & Scholarship Foundation of Hartford, CT.

He holds a BS in Biology from Yale University and a JD from The University of Connecticut School of Law.
