John O'Donnell
Senior Counsel, Hartford Healthcare Corp.
John O’Donnell is senior counsel to Hartford HealthCare, where he manages civil litigation matters, including professional liability, premises liability and patient privacy concerns. As part of this work, O’Donnell retains and works closely with outside trial counsel who appear in court on behalf of the physicians and entities owned, controlled or insured by Hartford HealthCare. Prior to joining Hartford HealthCare, O’Donnell worked for fourteen years at the law firm of Cooney, Scully and Dowling in Hartford, where he litigated a variety of professional liability, general liability and automotive matters. He has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict before judges and juries in Connecticut.
O’Donnell is also president emeritus of the American Moot Court Association, a volunteer organization that runs college-level moot court competitions across the United States and Canada. He is also a former member of Town of West Hartford’s Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as a former chair of West Hartford’s Conservation and Environment Commission.
O’Donnell graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2007 and the College of the Holy Cross in 2004.
