Meghann E. LaFountain

Meghann E. LaFountain has been practicing immigration law for over 10 years and founded her own firm, LaFountain Immigration Law, LLC, in Middletown, Connecticut, in 2017. Her practice focuses on removal defense, affirmative asylum applications, other humanitarian relief, family-based cases, naturalizations, and international adoptions. She regularly provides pro bono and low bono assistance to individuals and families who need representation.

LaFountain is a member and past chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Connecticut Chapter. She has spoken at immigration law conferences around the country, as well as on webinars and roundtables for the American Immigration Lawyers Association, on several topics, including adoption, representing children, and family-based immigration.

LaFountain is active in a number of other local organizations. She has been treasurer of the Middlesex County Bar Association for over 10 years, serves on the board of directors for the World Affairs Council of Connecticut, and is on the board of directors for Seasons Federal Credit Union. She also volunteers at Animal Friends of Connecticut, a cat shelter in New Britain, Connecticut.

LaFountain earned her JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2011. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2007 with a BA in political science as a university scholar and an honors scholar.
