The Honorable Frank M. D’Addabbo Jr. is a retired Connecticut Superior Court Judge, a Judge Trial Referee. Judge D’Addabbo served the people of the State of Connecticut as a Superior Court Judge from November 1996 to February 2023. Judge D’Addabbo’s judicial career consisted of presiding over serious criminal trials which involved addressing evidentiary issues.

In his professional capacity, Judge D’ Addabbo has presided over the following significant criminal trials:
• State v. Courchesne, 262 Conn. 537 (2003), 296 Conn. 622 (2010) (born alive rule and statutory interpretation)
• State v. Jan G., 329 Conn. 465 (2018) (self-representation issues)
• State v. Edwards, 325 Conn. 97 (2017) (search of cellphone tower information)
• State v. Michael Sharpe, S.C. 201915 (seizing and sequencing DNA)

Judge D’ Addabbo is currently involved with mentoring judges assigned to presiding over serious criminal jury and non-jury trials. As an Adjunct Professor at The University of Connecticut School of Law, Judge D’Addabbo recounts and explains his evidentiary experience teaching Electronic Information, Discovery and Admissibility in Evidence.
