Biography

Erin Romano served as a legal extern for Maricopa County’s Office of the Public Defender, where she worked in the juvenile, veteran, and women’s specialty courts. She also worked for the Academy for Justice at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, on the Miscarriages of Justice Symposium, which focused on strategies for post-conviction litigation beyond factual innocence claims. Romano also worked with the Edna Mahan Project, where she served as an advocate for women incarcerated at Edna Mahan, New Jersey’s women’s prison, in their class action settlement concerning the history of sexual violence and sexual harassment from guards at the prison.

Romano received the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Outstanding Law Student Pro Bono Award and Seton Hall’s LAMBDA Law Alliance Scholarship.
