Jami DeSantis

Jami counsels and advises students on career development and employment opportunities. She began her career as an educator in the Connecticut public schools teaching middle and high school English. In addition, she developed and facilitated various workshops on writing and teaching for educators and spent a year serving as interim Writing Center director at Connecticut College. She left the classroom to pursue her JD at UConn Law, where she conducted research on the development of teaching methods in law schools and truancy policies in education and graduated in 2017. She also served an education extern with the Connecticut Senate for which she conducted research evaluating the effectiveness of a Connecticut State Department of Education program in addressing the achievement gap and served as a legal extern with the Legislative Task Force. Jami was most recently in the legal recruiting field, placing attorneys and legal professionals in jobs at firms around the country. In addition to her JD, Jami holds a BA in English and Classical Civilizations from Connecticut College, an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Fairfield University, a 6th year degree in Advanced Educational Leadership from the University of New England, and an EdM in Education Policy from Columbia University.
