Biography
Jay Sicklick is the director of the law school’s first Health Equity Clinic, a Medical-Legal Partnership between UConn School of Law and Hartford Healthcare. The clinic will be the first adult-based medical-legal partnership in central Connecticut designed to address health inequities borne by the regions most vulnerable population.

Prior to being named director of the Health Equity Clinic. Professor Sicklick was the Deputy Director of the Center for Children’s Advocacy and founded and directed the Center’s Medical-Legal Partnership with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in 2000, and subsequently at Yale New Haven Hospital, and the Yale Child Study Center.

From 1995-1999 Professor Sicklick was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Law at the UConn School of Law, teaching Lawyering Process and Social Welfare Law. From 1990-1995 Professor Sicklick was senior staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society’s Bronx Neighborhood Office, focusing on housing and public benefits law. From 1987-1990 he worked at Parker, Coulter, Daley and White in Boston, focusing on civil litigation. Professor Sicklick has also taught Legal Profession at UConn since 1999.

Professor Sicklick is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UConn School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics; a faculty member at the Yale School of Medicine, Program for biomedical Ethics, and a consultant with the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership at George Washington University Milken School of Public Health.
