Pamela D. Bass is a partner at Thomas, Drohan, Waxman, Petigrow & Mayle, LLP in the Hudson Valley area of New York. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from Brown University, her M.Ed. from the University of Texas at Austin, and her JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Bass represents institutions of higher education, public school districts, municipalities and 501(c)(3) corporations. She serves as general counsel and labor/employment counsel. In addition, she counsels clients in the areas of interscholastic/intercollegiate athletics, intellectual property, board governance, civil rights, and board policies/procedures. She presents across New York State on a variety of legal matters and trains clients on various topics affecting educational institutions and employers, including, but not limited to, Title IX and student or employee discipline and rights. Bass has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2021-2024 for her work in labor and employment law. Prior to receiving her JD degree, Bass had 19 years of experience in higher education and intercollegiate athletics, serving a National Collegiate Athletics Association Division I head and assistant women’s basketball coach. She has extensive experience in NCAA compliance and served on university and athletic conference committees on leadership, gender equity, hiring and diversity. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the State of Connecticut.
