Patrick Salve is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. After starting his career with a major law firm in Philadelphia, he served as an attorney in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked in the Law Departments of the RCA Corporation, INA Corporation (now CIGNA) and Commercial Union Insurance companies. He joined The Hartford in 1984 and became a senior vice president and associate general counsel and director of property and casualty legal operations. He retired in 2002. During his career at The Hartford he was a member of the ISO Legal Review Committee and Chairman of the Legal Committee of Industrial Risk Insurers.
