Sandra Sherlock White is an elder law attorney at the law firm she established, the Law Offices of Sandra Sherlock White, LLC. She concentrates her practice in elder law, incapacity, estate and long-term care planning, conservatorships and decedent’s estate administration, end of life and health care decision-making, Medicaid, and nursing home residents’ rights. She appeared on behalf of the Connecticut Bar Association in the Connecticut Supreme Court cases of Kortner v. Martise and Luster v. Luster.

Sherlock White is past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. She served as an officer of the section for eight years and also as its legislative liaison. She engaged in extensive advocacy on proposed legislation and issues involving elders, both at the Connecticut State Capitol and in Washington, DC. Sherlock White is a member of the Coalition for Elder Justice Coordinating Council in Connecticut. She served as a member of the task force for the Connecticut Bar Association for conservatorship reform and probate court reform and the Probate Administrator’s Work Group for Conservator Training. Sherlock White currently serves as the president of Swift’s Inn and as vice chair of the Board of Connecticut Community Care, a non-profit serving elders and individuals with disabilities. She has also served as a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. She has been a frequent local and national speaker on elder law conferences for attorneys, social workers, health care providers, senior groups and various organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Connecticut Probate Assembly.

As an adjunct at the University of Connecticut School of Law since 2003, Sherlock White teaches Elder Law. She taught as an adjunct professor at Western New England University School of Law in its LLM program in Elder Law. Sherlock White received her JD from Western New England University School of Law in 1985.
