In her role as Assistant Dean of Students, Shelby is a partner in supporting the professional, personal and wellbeing needs of the law school student community. Shelby serves as an advocate for the needs and concerns of students — including academic accommodations, student organization leadership, Title IX, student conduct, professional development, wellness, and many other aspects of law school student life. She oversees the Office of Student Affairs, which includes student services, disability services, and wellness initiatives as well as working closely with various law school constituents through communication, alignment of priorities, implementation of initiatives, and active engagement in selected areas of the law school administration.
Shelby received her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Hartford. The focus of her research includes: students with mental illness in higher education, faculty resources and trainings regarding support systems for students with mental illness, and student advocacy and processes in place for mental health support. Her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and her bachelor’s degree in Communication are both from the University of Louisville.
