Both sessions will introduce you to key community members, provide useful application advice, and enhance your understanding of the opportunities waiting for you at UConn Law. Guests will also embark on a guided, interactive walking tour of our beautiful and historic campus. Attendance will be capped at 100 guests per session, so early registration is recommended.

Virtual Information Sessions

These 45-minute webinar sessions will be led by the Director of JD Admissions and provide tips and tricks relating to particular application components or applicant profiles.

Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Tips for First-Generation Students

Meet the Director

Lauren Terbush has served as director of JD admissions at the UConn School of Law for five years and has ten years’ experience in law school admissions. She is happy to meet with any applicant or prospective student who has questions about their candidacy, the admissions process and policies, the JD program or the law school community. She is a proud first-generation college and law school graduate who specializes in providing tailored advice regardless of where potential students are in their law school admission journeys.

Student Ambassadors

Katherine Dunbar

Katherine Dunbar is a 2L day student who received her Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Relations from The University of Texas at Austin. While at UT Austin, Katherine interned at the Texas Senate and spent a semester in Washington D.C. as an Archer Fellow interning at the U.S. House of Representatives. Before entering law school, she worked as a Business Immigration Paralegal at Ogletree Deakins P.C. in Austin, Texas. She currently serves as the Judging Director for the Mock Trial Society, an Associate Editor for the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal, and is a Moot Court Board Member. During her 1L summer, she interned for the Connecticut Public Defenders and will spend her 2L summer at Wofsey, Rosen, Kweskin & Kuriansky, LLP as a summer associate.

Sofia Rodriguez

Sofia Rodriguez is a 2L day student who received her bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences from the University of Connecticut. During her time at UConn, Sofia assumed multiple leadership roles within the Undergraduate Student Government, and she was a member of the UConn Women’s Rugby team. Sofia conducted research for the CT Hate Crimes Advisory Council at UConn Law as an undergraduate, and she has volunteered to interpret conversations for legal cases. Before entering law school, Sofia worked as a preschool teacher. She currently serves as an executive board member for the Latinx Law Student Association and the Soccer Club. She is also a member of the Negotiations and Dispute Resolution Society and the UConn Law Softball Club. Sofia is interested in sports and business law.

Jacqueline Stevens

Jacqueline Stevens is a 3L day student with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton. While at CSUF, Jacqueline was a member of the Criminal Justice Honors Society (Alpha Phi Sigma) and the Pre-Law Society. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Mock Trial Society and is a Moot Court Board member. She is also a member of the Negotiations and Dispute Resolution Society and is the secretary for the UConn Law Softball Club. Jacqueline is interested in pursuing a criminal law career as a prosecutor in Connecticut.
