She reflects on moments of self-doubt, being “the only one” in many professional spaces, and balancing career with motherhood, shaping her leadership philosophy and fueling her determination to build a career on her own terms.

Nancy Kennedy ’05 is being honored with the Connecticut Bar Association’s 2026 Ladder Award for outstanding mentorship and service in the legal profession. The award will be presented at the Bar Association’s 2026 Pathways to Leadership for Women Lawyers event on Thursday, March 5 at the Aqua Turf Club.

Cindy Cieslak ’12 was appointed as Town Attorney by the Enfield Town Council. She will serve a two-year term advising town officials on legal matters. “I look forward to serving the Town Council and I am grateful for this opportunity,” Cieslak said in a statement.

Stephen Fontana ’96 has been appointed the new Economic Development Director in Hamden. He commented, “Having lived in Spring Glen as a child and represented Mount Carmel in the General Assembly for six years as an adult, I have a great deal of affection for the town and its people, and I am looking forward to serving the people and businesses in town.”

John T. Cigno ’17 joins the firm as an associate in the Labor, Employment Law and Employee Benefits practice.

US Air Force veteran Thomas M. Brockett ’91 has been inducted into the CT Veterans Hall of Fame. “The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame celebrates the many veterans from Connecticut who have gone above and beyond in their service to our nation by continuing to contribute to our communities in so many ways, even after leaving the military,” Governor Lamont said.
