Donald S. Gershman
Founder/Principal, Development Resources LLC
Adjunct Faculty
Donald Gershman has over three decades of experience in the real estate industry as a lawyer and a developer. Gershman began his career at a large Connecticut law firm where he specialized in the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing and mortgage financing of commercial real estate representing banks, retailers, municipalities, developers and other businesses. Gershman then served as General Counsel for a large vertically integrated real estate development company where he built and led its legal department providing high quality, high volume and timely representation to a demanding client organization. Gershman later transitioned to the business side of that company where he developed or acquired its most high-profile projects, supervised its commercial property management subsidiary, and served as its government relations officer. In 2006, Gershman formed Development Resources LLC, a private development company that identifies opportunistic sites and develops them as commercial or multifamily projects, typically with partners. Today, he divides his time between real estate development, other business activities and teaching Real Estate Transactions at University of Connecticut School of Law, which he has enjoyed doing for over ten years. Gershman holds a BA in Economics from Tufts University and a JD from Boston College Law School.
