Jessica Farrell ’03 was promoted to Colonel with the Army JAG. Farrell was honored at the Pentagon on February 15, 2024. Farrell has been part of the Army JAG since 2004, and is currently assigned as a Career Manager.

Mikhail Murshak ’03 Joins Michigan Firm
Mikhail “Mike” Murshak ’03 has joined Foster Swift Collins & Smith as a senior attorney in the firm’s Lansing, Michigan, office. Murshak, a licensed patent attorney with extensive experience in intellectual property law, is also an adjunct professor at Michigan State University College of Law and Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
Steven Blivess ’03 Appointed Chief Legal Counsel
The Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland has announced the appointment of Steven Blivess ’03 as chief legal counsel. Blivess previously served as the director of labor relations and lead negotiator for Montgomery County Public Schools, and has been an adjunct faculty member at The George Washington University School of Law.
Bryan Cafferelli ’03 Named To Lead Consumer Protection Department
Connecticut Gov.Ned Lamont announced that he has nominated Bryan Cafferelli ’03 to serve as the commissioner of the state Department of Consumer Protection. His nomination will need to be confirmed by the state’s General Assembly. Cafferelli currently serves as legal counsel to the Connecticut Senate Republican Office, where he has worked since January 2019.
Jeffrey White ’03 Elected to Board of Directors
Jeffrey White ’03 has been elected to the Women in Manufacturing (WiM) National Board of Directors. WiM is the only national association specifically dedicated to supporting, promoting and inspiring women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing sector. White is significantly involved with manufacturing industry issues on both a national and international level, and his three year term for this position will begin April 1, 2021.
Gregory J. Bennici ’03 Named Fairfield County 40 Under Forty
Gregory J. Bennici ’03 was selected for Fairfield County Business Journal’s “Fairfield County 40 Under Forty,” which recognizes 40 dynamic industry leaders who are part of Fairfield County’s business growth. Bennici is part of Robinson+Cole’s Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation Group and maintains an active pro bono practice.
Jeffrey White ’03 Elected to Business Association Board of Directors
Jeffrey White ’03 was elected to serve on the Connecticut Business and Industry Association’s Board of Directors during the organization’s annual meeting on November 19, 2020. White is chair of the Manufacturing Inductry Practice group at the law firm Robinson & Cole, and has previously worked as an adjunct professor at the UConn School of Law.
Brian Farnen ’03 Elected to CT General Assembly
Brian Farnen ’03 has been elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent the 132nd District. Fernan is general counsel and chief legal officer for the Connecticut Green Bank. In the state House of Representatives, he serves on three committees: Finance Revenue and Bonding; Education; and Transportation.
Jeffery White ’03 Honored with CTDEC Award
Jeffrey White ’03 is among six business leaders to receive the Connecticut District Export Council 2020 Ambassador Award. The Ambassador Award is given to recognize and appreciate outstanding contributions and leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic in service to the region’s exporters and manufacturers. White is currently serving on the CTDEC for the 2020-2022 term, as appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and has been noted as one of the most active DEC members this year.
