Frank Purcaro ’09 has been appointed as Newtown’s new Assistant Superintendent of Schools. The Board of Education confirmed Purcaro’s new role in an unanimous vote, and he will begin his stint in December. 

Four UConn Law Alumni were recognized at the 2024 New England Legal Awards. David Ephraim ’87 was awarded for both Banking and Finance Attorney of the Year and In-House Impact. Rebecca Clegg ’15, Blake Driscolli ’15, and Matthias Sportini ’17 were all recognized as New Leaders in the Law. 

Igers Vangjeli ’17 has helped launch the Kansas Legal Group, which is a part of the US Legal Groups network. Vangjeli will serve as the firm’s managing attorney.

Conor McKenzie ’05 has joined the business law group of Downs Rachlin Martin. McKenzie will assist the firm’s tax team, and will practice out of their Burlington office.

Jonathan Levine ’98 has joined Baker Botts LLP as special counsel in the global projects department. He will practice out of their Austin, TX office.

Gabriella Lyons ’06 has joined Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner in the firm’s corporate, M&A and securities practice group. Lyons will practice out of the firm’s Dallas office. 

Grant Ehrlich ’08 has joined Stites & Harbison as a Member of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group.  He will be based in the firm’s newly established Hartford office once it opens. 

Ashley Brown ’09 has been recognized by Lawdragon as one of their 500 Leading Global Real Estate Lawyers for 2024. This list recognizes leading attorneys for their depth of knowledge across the practice of real estate law. Brown is currently a Director at Goulston & Storrs.
