Alexander Hornat ’13 was elevated to Partner at McCarter & English, LLP in Boston. Hornat focuses his practice on intellectual property and business litigation.  

Jason Buchsbaum ’05 was sworn in as a State Representative at Connecticut’s General Assembly in Hartford on January 8th, 2025. Buchsbaum will serve his first term as a Republican State Representative for the 69th House District. He is currently a Principal at Cohen and Wolf in Connecticut. 

Laurane Fumex ’24 was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney to the Queens District Attorney’s Office. Fumex will begin a six-week training program to get acquainted with her new role. 

Francesco Mioli ’17 has joined Polsinelli PC as an associate in the firm’s Real Estate Finance group. Mioli will work out of the firm’s New York, NY office, and is licensed to practice in both Connecticut and New York.

Jennifer Maleski ’02 has been named as an equity partner at Dilworth Paxson LLP. Maleski is part of the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy, Insolvency, & Creditors’ Rights practice groups.

Karen Narwold ’86 has been appointed to Standard Lithium’s Board of Directors. Narwold previously served as the Executive Vice President of the Albemarle Corporation. 

The Honorable Christine Jean-Louis ’08 will be honored as the 2025 Thurgood Marshall Award Recipient by Quinnipiac Law’s Black Law Students Association on April 2, 2025. Judge Jean-Louis has served on the Connecticut Superior Court since 2024. 

Jennifer Mullen ‘03 was recently admitted as Partner at Halloran Sage. Mullen is a member of the Firm’s Medical Malpractice and Health Care Practice Group, and has successfully represented physicians, nurses, and hospitals in high-stakes cases.
