Adam Kuegler ’20 Named Supreme Court Fellow

Adam Kuegler ’20 has been appointed a 2023-24 Supreme Court Fellow assigned to the Federal Judicial Center. The fellowship provides experience in judicial administration, policy development and education with time to study and write a work of scholarship. Kuegler joins the Supreme Court Fellows Program from the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, where he clerked for the Honorable Sarala V. Nagala.

Louanne Cooley ’20 to Speak at CBF Event

Louanne Cooley ’20 will speak on December 6, 2022, at a virtual roundtable discussion entitled The Climate Change Crisis in CT: The Impact on Low-Income Communities and What Can Be Done, sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Foundation. Cooley, a legal policy fellow for the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation, is pursuing an LLM in Energy and Environmental Law at the UConn School of Law.

Three UConn Law Graduates Join Carmody

Three graduates of the UConn School of Law joined Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP. Jeffrey M. Beck ’22 will practice in multiple areas including employment, healthcare, and education, working out of the Waterbury office. Meghan F. Buckley ’22 joins the litigation practice, working out of New Haven. Daniel C. Chapple ’20 joins the real estate practice, working out of Stamford.

Jessica Espinoza ’20 Joins FLB Law as an Associate

Jessica Espinoza ’20 joins FLB Law in Westport as an associate in the firm’s insurance and litigation and dispute resolution practice. In this new position, Espinoza will handle general liability cases by supporting lead counsel interviewing clients, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses. Previously, Espinoza represented two asylum seekers pro bono through the Immigration Detention Service Project in York County Prison.

Ethan Ung LLM ’20 Admitted as Partner

Ethan Ung LLM ’20 has been admitted as a partner at Halloran Sage. Ung is a patent attorney and former scientist who joined Halloran Sage in 2016 as an associate. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups. He represents insurers and corporate clients, helping them manage risks, mitigate damages and resolve a range of complex disputes.
