Daniel Krisch ’99 Elected to American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

Daniel Krisch ’99 has been elected to the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, which recognizes outstanding appellate lawyers and promotes the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.  Krisch is a partner at the law firm of Halloran Sage, where he chairs the Appellate Law and Advocacy Practice Group.

Kelly Scott ’11 Named a New Leader in the Law

Kelly A. Scott ’11, who practices family law with Pullman & Comley, has been named a 2022 New Leader in the Law by the Connecticut Law Tribune. She is past co-chair of the Family Law Committee and current chair of the Professional Responsibility Committee for the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Section Executive Committee. Scott will be honored at the Connecticut Legal Awards on May 11.

David R. Shannon ’98 Appointed State’s Attorney

The Connecticut Criminal Justice Commission has appointed David R. Shannon ’98 state’s attorney for the Judicial District of Litchfield. Shannon began working for the Division of Criminal Justice in 1998 as a legal intern in the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office. He subsequently served as an assistant state’s attorney in the Danbury Judicial District and the Judicial District of Litchfield, where he was promoted to supervisory assistant state’s attorney in 2019.

Elizabeth Alquist ’94 Receives 2022 Ladder Award 

Elizabeth “Beth” A. Alquist ’94 received the 2022 Ladder Award from the Connecticut Bar Association on March 3, 2022. The award, created by the Young Lawyers Section Women in the Law Committee, honors lawyers who understand the importance of mentoring and supporting more junior lawyers and have “left the ladder down” for women to follow in their footsteps. Alquist is an intellectual property partner and chair of the Litigation Department at Day Pitney LLP in the Hartford office. She co-founded the firm’s Women Working Together initiative, which helps shape the firm’s parental leave and flextime policies and ensures equal pay.
