The Federal District Court of Rhode Island announced that Magistrate Judge Lincoln D. Almond ’88 will retire after more than 20 years of service to the Court. Judge Arnold will leave the bench in May 2025.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced the appointment of DeVaughn Ward ’11 as the state’s interim correction ombudsman. The position is newly created under a law that Lamont recently signed. Ward will begin serving in the position on September 23, 2024.

Stephanie Clarke ’86 Appointed Judge
Stephanie Clarke ’86 has been appointed to serve as a judge in the Contra Costa County Superior Court in California. Clarke’s is one of 18 judicial appointments made by Governor Gavin Newsom. She previously served as a staff attorney for the First District Appellate Project.
