Jeffrey White ’03 was elected to serve on the Connecticut Business and Industry Association’s Board of Directors during the organization’s annual meeting on November 19, 2020. White is chair of the Manufacturing Inductry Practice group at the law firm Robinson & Cole, and has previously worked as an adjunct professor at the UConn School of Law.

Samuel C. Maduabueke ’20 Joins Robinson & Cole
Samuel C. Maduabueke ’20 has been joined the Connecticut-based firm Robinson & Cole as a law clerk in the firm’s Business Transactions Group. Maduabueke will work with clients on a variety of corporate and transactional matters. Maduabueke previously worked at the firm as a summer intern.
Ashley Noel ’15 Named Shareholder
Ashley A. Noel ’15 has been named a Shareholder in the Hartford office of Boyle Shaughnessy Law. Noel works in Hartford, concentrating in insurance coverage and extracontractual liability. She also represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation, including the prosecution and defense of declaratory judgment actions.
Megan Fitzgerald ’15 Named Law Firm Shareholder
Megan Fitzgerald ’15 has been named a shareholder at Boyle Shaugnessy Law. Fitzgerald is based in Boston and focuses on defending environmental, premises liability, personal injury, and construction defect claims. Before joining Boyl Shaughnessy Law, Megan served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Adam Dobson ’10 Promoted to Partner
Adam Dobson ’10 has been promoted to Partner at Ropes & Gray. Dobson works in the firm’s asset management practice and represents asset managers and institutional investors. In the secondary market Adam is viewed as a highly effective adviser because of his breadth of institutional knowledge. Dobson entered into this new role on November 1, 2020.
Brian Farnen ’03 Elected to CT General Assembly
Brian Farnen ’03 has been elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent the 132nd District. Fernan is general counsel and chief legal officer for the Connecticut Green Bank. In the state House of Representatives, he serves on three committees: Finance Revenue and Bonding; Education; and Transportation.
Dona Young ’80 Appointed to USAA Board of Directors
Dona Young ’80 has been appointed to the Board of Directors of USAA, which provides insurance, banking and investment and retirement services to members and veterans of the U.S. military. She will serve as a member of the Nominating and Governance, Audit, and Compensation and Workforce committees. Young is the former chair, chief executive officer and president of the Phoenix Companies.
Jessica Zaccagnino ’20 Publishes Case Study
Jessica Zaccagnino ’20, now studying for an LLM in Human Rights and Social Justice, published “Authoritarianism in the Time of COVID-19: A Hungarian Case Study” for her Carnegie Council internship. Zaccagnino has focused her studies in part on illiberal democracy and authoritarianism, which is reflected in her research report.
