Jonathan Bedosky ‘21 and Joan Tsang ‘13 Join Halloran Sage

Jonathan Bedosky ’21 and Joan Tsang ’13 recently joined the law firm of Halloran Sage at the firm’s New Haven office. Bedosky handles complex commercial and corporate litigation, insurance law, and municipal property tax matters as a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Labor and Employment practice groups. As a member of the Workers’ Compensation and Insurance practice groups, Tsang represents employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators on issues related to liability, subrogation, and discrimination claims.

Gov. Lamont Proclaims Lee Sawyer Day

Gov. Ned Lamont recently signed a proclamation marking the anniversary of the death of Lee Sawyer ’13 as Lee Sawyer Day. Sawyer passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 31, 2020, leaving his wife and three daughters. He was committed to implementing environmentally friendly policies statewide as chief of staff for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. He also launched Recycle CT, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting the importance of sustainability through waste reduction, recycling and composting.

UConn Alumni at Willinger, Willinger, & Bucci celebrate firm expansion

The Bridgeport-based law firm of Willinger, Willinger & Bucci, have expanded its presence in the state with a new office in Shelton and will be celebrating its growth with a grand opening this month. The firm employs several UConn alumni, including James A. Lenes ’91, Heidi C. McGee ’92, Toni M. Gelineau ’80, and Christopher M. Cerami ’13.

Christina Canales ’13 named partner at Morrison Mahoney

Morrison Mahoney has announced the election of Christina Canales ’13 as a partner in the firm’s Hartford office. Canales’ practice concentrates in the defense of medical malpractice and professional liability, representing hospitals, assisted living facilities, and various medical professionals. Canales also has experience defending non-medical professionals, including attorneys.
